Questions
Do I need a paid plan to join a meeting?
No. Joining never needs a plan. The plan of the person or workspace that starts a meeting decides its size and whether it can be recorded.
What is free?
Audio calls and 1:1 video calls in chat, and one-to-one meetings. Group video, larger meetings, recording and transcripts depend on the plan of whoever starts them.
Where do audio and video calls happen?
Inside chat: on ulkaa.com, in the chat dock and in workspace chat. Ulkaa Call at call.ulkaa.com is for meetings and your call history.
How are calls connected?
Directly between people (peer to peer) whenever that works, and through a media server for larger groups. Peer-to-peer media is encrypted in transit with DTLS-SRTP. Through the media server it is encrypted hop by hop, so meetings are not end-to-end encrypted.
Where do recordings go?
Recording happens on Ulkaa servers and the file is saved into Disk, under the same sharing rules as your other files.
